Tyson Foods Named POULTRY Magazine’s 2007 Industry Innovator Award Winner


Tyson Foods, Inc., has been selected to receive POULTRY magazine’s 2007 Industry Innovator Award, which honors excellence in the U.S. poultry industry in the areas of innovation, business success, leadership and industry contributions.

Tyson is being honored for its outstanding achievements in product development. Its groundbreaking new R & D hub, the Discovery Center, reflects the emerging intersection of food science and culinary arts, offers an original way to serve its customers, and creates new processes that raise the culinary and scientific standard for the entire poultry industry.

“Tyson has been a true pioneer in elevating product development,” said POULTRY Executive Editor Yvonne Vizzier Thaxton. “From training in-house chefs in food science and food scientists in the culinary arts to building the Discovery Center, Tyson is able to deliver novel and innovative products to the marketplace faster than ever before.”

In receiving the award, Tyson joins an impressive roster of past honorees that include Coleman Natural Foods, Wayne Farms LLC, Murray’s Chickens, Jennie-O Turkey Store and College Hill Poultry.

As recipient of this year’s Industry Innovator award, Tyson was selected from a field of several innovative companies, all of them nominated by their peers, customers or associates.

Tyson will receive the award October 4 in Washington, D.C., in at the National Chicken Council’s 53rd Annual Conference.
