AT&T Wins Hosting Contract from Air Products

WEBWIRE

San Antonio, Texas.-AT&T Inc. (NYSE:T) announced today that Air Products has awarded AT&T with a three year multimillion dollar enterprise hosting contract. Air Products has chosen to migrate its own data center in the south of England to AT&T’s IDC (Internet Data Center) in the U.K. to ensure that a secure and robust infrastructure is in place to accommodate further expansion of the business.

Air Products serves customers in industrial, energy, technology and health care markets worldwide and provides atmospheric gases, process and specialty gases, performance materials, equipment and services.

Under the terms of the agreement, AT&T will be hosting a number of business applications, including components of the company’s global SAP®* landscape, systems to support the European health care business and messaging for the European region.

“The data center hosts a number of our critical business applications, which are used across our operations in Europe, the Middle East and Africa, and AT&T’s infrastructure and proven capabilities made it the perfect choice to match our requirements,” said Virgil Palmer, director for Global IT Sourcing Management Office at Air Products.

AT&T has provided Air Products with a global Internet Protocol-based VPN (Virtual Private Network) since 2005. This contract follows the successful implementation of a similar project in Singapore, where Air Products migrated to AT&T’s facility in Singapore because of physical constraints at its own facilities. In addition to hosting services, AT&T will also provide an International Private Line Circuit to the company’s data center in the U.S.
