Fujitsu Siemens Computers’ new line of ESPRIMO 5925 EPA Professional PCs continues to set higher standards for energy-efficient PCs. The new Professional PCs, which are either available as the ESPRIMO P5925 EPA Microtower or as the ESPRIMO E5925 EPA Small Form Factor PC, combine the proven ergonomic and energy-saving features Fujitsu Siemens Computers is known for, along with the latest in Intel chipset technology and an 80 percent efficiency power supply. This means that power consumption has now been reduced by almost 45 percent compared to a two-year-old system. The ESPRIMO 5925 EPA family is available immediately priced from €999 (e.g. in Germany incl. VAT).

The new Professional PCs combine environmental benefits with technical innovation and maximum performance. The Intel® Q35 chipset platform and the latest Intel® Core™2 Duo processors are optimized for low power consumption and for very effective operation. iAMT 3.0 (Intel Active Management Technology) facilitates centralized management of the devices, even when they have been switched off, reducing companies’ overall energy consumption. In addition, the PC is extremely quiet due to its proven cooling capability enabled by the proven ESPRIMO housing designed and developed by Fujitsu Siemens Computers.

The ESPRIMO 5925 EPA Professional PCs are also setting new standards regarding energy efficiency. Energy saving is becoming increasingly important, and for years IT companies such as Fujitsu Siemens Computers and organizations like the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), have been developing technologies to reduce power consumption. In July 2007 the EPA, which awards the EnergyStar® rating, introduced more stringent criteria to measure energy savings. This is an important step to improve energy standards. The EnergyStar® V. 4.0 demands power supply improvements of up to 80 percent, 20 percent higher than the energy efficiency of conventional PCs.

The new ESPRIMO 5925 EPA family from Fujitsu Siemens Computers meets this requirement. Fujitsu Siemens Computers also supplies its new Business PCs in a preset energy-saving mode which switches off the display after 10 minutes and the hard disk after 15 minutes. After 20 minutes, the system goes into standby mode and after one hour, the maximum energy-saving mode is activated.

Fujitsu Siemens Computers, the leading European IT manufacturer has been at the forefront of developing and producing environmentally friendly products for years. As early as 1992 the company issued the first guidelines on environmentally friendly product design. In 1993 Fujitsu Siemens Computers launched the first “Green PC” with an automatic energy saving function. The first energy saving ESPRIMO PC was developed in 2005, and as early as June 2007 the first Professional PC to meet the new Energy Star requirements was announced - namely the ESPRIMO E5615 EPA.
