Harris Corporation Names Brian Fitzpatrick Vice President of Business Development for Civil Programs

Harris Corporation (NYSE:HRS), an international communications and information technology company, has named Brian A. Fitzpatrick vice president of Business Development for the Civil Programs business of Harris Government Communications Systems. In his new position, Fitzpatrick will lead the company’s strategic growth plan in the federal/civil government marketplace and the capture of new business opportunities across civilian agencies. He will be located in Falls Church, Virginia.

“Brian has more than 20 years of experience in federal, state and local business development and marketing, and we are delighted to have him on the Harris team,” said Cheryl Janey, president of Civil Programs for Harris Government Communications Systems.

Prior to joining Harris, Fitzpatrick was corporate director of Business Development for Homeland Security with Northrop Grumman Corporation. In this capacity, his focus was on corporate-wide/cross-sector business development activities related to the federal, state and local homeland security market, with responsibility for creating and leading a strategic account management system. He has also held business development leadership positions at TRW Corporation and Siemens Corporation, and served as chief of staff to two members of Congress from New York: John R. Kuhl, Jr., and Amo Houghton.

Fitzpatrick holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communications from St. Bonaventure University in Olean, New York. He is a certified Six Sigma green belt.
