Sprint Nextel (NYSE:S) will launch The SprintSpeed™ Million presented by Motorola sweepstakes July 15, a promotion in which one fan is guaranteed to win $1 million.

Race fans enter by selecting the driver they think will win the 2007 NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Championship. Entries will be accepted from July 15 - Sept. 3 at Sprint retail stores, on www.sprint.com/speed, by texting “million” to 7777 from any Sprint or Nextel phone or trackside at the NEXTEL Experience.

“We are always looking for ways to get fans closer to the sport,” said Dean Kessel, director of NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series marketing for Sprint. “This promotion will certainly accomplish that for 12 finalists, who are going to get an amazing behind-the-scenes experience. Of course, one of those 12 race fans also will become a millionaire.”

The 12 Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series drivers will be determined after the Richmond (Va.) International Raceway race Sept. 8. At that time, 12 sweepstakes finalists will be randomly drawn and paired with the Chase drivers they selected in the entry phase. The finalists will receive a trip to a Chase race for an ultimate VIP experience.

The finalists paired with the top-three drivers in contention for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series Championship will be invited to Homestead-Miami Speedway Nov. 18 to watch the season finale. The finalist paired with the driver who wins the championship will win the $1 million prize.

The sweepstakes promotes Sprint’s new The Motorola Deluxe™ ic902 and will be supported by extensive media and marketing initiatives. Denny Hamlin is featured in a television spot, which begins airing July 15. Additionally, print advertising will feature several drivers, including Hamlin and Tony Stewart. Trackside, fans will see sky divers, card stunts, branded golf carts, trucks and uniforms, an armored truck and unique interactive activities to be launched at each track in the seven events leading to the Chase for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup.
