Xerox Offers Widest Array of Multifunction Systems That Meet International Security Standard

Xerox Corporation (NYSE: XRX) has earned the international standard in information security for its WorkCentre™ 7655 and 7665 multifunction systems as well as a new certification for an updated software platform on its WorkCentre 200 series multifunction systems. With these additions, Xerox boasts more than 30 digital color and black-and-white devices that meet IT security certification requirements - the broadest range of any multifunction vendor.
The multifunction systems received the National Information Assurance Partnership’s (NIAP) Common Criteria Certification, an internationally recognized standard for security evaluation. NIAP is a U.S. government initiative created to meet the security testing needs of IT consumers and companies.

“Whether protecting a business from unknown threats or following government-mandated regulations, we make security a top priority for our customers,” said Rick Dastin, senior vice president, Xerox Office Group. “We work with NIAP to ensure the products we offer our customers provide a high level of secure data transmission and storage. No other vendor can offer as many product choices that meet NIAP certification.”

To receive Common Criteria Certification, products submitted endure rigorous testing by NIAP-approved Common Criteria Testing Laboratories. And unlike competitors that limit their testing to single functions such as networking, Xerox has NIAP evaluate the entire multifunction system.

The advanced security features on the award-winning WorkCentre 7655 and 7665 multifunction systems enable customers to restrict access, track usage and protect confidential information that flows through the devices. These systems also encrypt data traveling on the network, ensuring that unauthorized viewers do not have access to scanned documents en route to file servers or other network repositories.

The WorkCentre and WorkCentre Pro 232/238, 245/255 and 265/275, which were updated in October and include Xerox Extensible Interface Platform™, were re-submitted for evaluation. The new software platform enables independent software vendors and partners to develop customized programs for document management. It includes new scanning and network management features designed to increase productivity and security in sectors such as finance, legal and healthcare - areas that are sensitive to security regulations such as the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and Gramm-Leach Bliley Act.

Additional Xerox products that have received NIAP certification include the Xerox WorkCentre Pro C2128, C2636 and C3545 advanced color multifunction systems; CopyCentre C2128, C2636 and C3545 digital color copiers; Xerox WorkCentre Pro 35, 45, 55, 65, 75 and 90 advanced multifunction systems; the WorkCentre M35, M45 and M55 copier-printers; and the CopyCentre C65, C75 and C90 high-speed digital office copiers.
