BASKING RIDGE, N.J. -- Verizon Business is now the leading provider of managed security services to business and government customers worldwide with the completion of its previously announced acquisition of Cybertrust.

Verizon Business today boasts unmatched capabilities and global reach, including a combined security services staff of more than 1,100 professionals deployed throughout the Americas, Europe, the Middle East and the Asia-Pacific region.

Customers of Verizon Business and the former Cybertrust are benefiting immediately from the combination of the companies’ assets, products, professional services and people into an enhanced Verizon Business Security Solutions practice. Starting today, each company’s customers can access an integrated portfolio of security offerings--combined under the “Verizon Business Security Solutions powered by Cybertrust” brand.

“In today’s globally mobile, millisecond-fast economy, security protection is essential to ensuring the health of every business,” said Nancy Gofus, senior vice president and chief marketing officer for Verizon Business.

“With our newly expanded world-class security capabilities, Verizon Business is enabling customers to better secure their businesses. We are uniquely positioned to help as an organization moves into the era of the extended enterprise where data must be stored and secured from location to location, from partner to supplier, from the private network to the public Internet, from the desktop to the cell phone, and everywhere in-between,” she said.

The newly enhanced Verizon Business Security Solutions suite delivers end-to-end, multilayered security protection from the customer’s premises to the Verizon Business global IP network, one of the many networks making up the Internet, or “cloud,” and includes:

* Professional Services comprised of governance, risk and compliance analysis, application assessments, and forensics and incident response services. This includes 300 dedicated professional services consultants located around the world.

* A full suite of premises and network-based Managed Security Services, consisting of Denial of Service, Managed Email, Managed Devices, and Managed Intrusion Protection and Detection Systems.

* Identity and Access Management.

* Threat and Vulnerability Management.

* Partner Security Programs.

* Security Certification Programs.

Additionally, customers can choose from a wide range of flexible management options, from fully outsourcing all functions to Verizon Business, to management of services or hosting of certain equipment, to the customer doing it on a self-serve basis and calling upon Verizon Business as needed.

“Businesses around the globe can turn to Verizon Business knowing they are getting unmatched capabilities and global reach with customized solutions to fit their individual needs,” said Kerry Bailey, vice president of Verizon Business Security Solutions. "We’ve combined the world’s most interconnected IP network with more than 27 years of combined security experience and a vendor-agnostic approach to delivering security solutions. No other player can offer our breadth and depth of security expertise.

“We are committed to protecting our customers’ operations end- to-end as the global IP transformation unfolds. Security starts with experience. But it can’t stop there. Technology, for good and for ill, constantly evolves. We intend to stay one step ahead delivering new ways for organizations and their users to conduct business more seamlessly and securely,” he said.

Verizon Business adds a strong new focus in the area of identity management, enabling customers to efficiently manage user-identities across multiple systems and applications. The security practice will offer a full range of solutions for enterprises and governments to manage electronic identities that enable authentication management, information protection and secure access to resources across enterprise systems.

Verizon Business also acquired Cybertrust’s ICSA Labs, which will remain an independent division of the company. ICSA Labs is considered the gold standard of security product certification, having tested and certified 95 percent of the installed security products on the market today.

Verizon Business continues to operate seven Cybertrust Security Operations Centers in the Americas, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia-Pacific. These centers enable a true “follow the sun” approach to security operations.

“Security, mobility and the extended enterprise are accelerating the pace of globalization,” said Gofus. “Through the Cybertrust acquisition, Verizon Business is extremely well-positioned to help enterprises meet these challenges head on.”
