Windows Workflow Foundation to Power Next-Generation BPM Capabilities on Microsoft .NET Platform

LOS ANGELES-Sept. 14, 2005 - Siebel Systems, Inc. (NASDAQ: SEBL), a leading provider of customer-facing solutions, today announced at the Microsoft Professional Developers Conference, the launch of a new initiative to utilize Microsoft’s Windows Workflow Foundation to power Siebel’s next generation of business process management (BPM) capabilities.

“The evolution to process-centric solutions will bring a whole new level of business benefit to Siebel deployments,” said Skip Bacon, Vice President, Technology, Siebel Systems. “Collaborating closely with Microsoft to take advantage of Windows Workflow Foundation will help us deliver those capabilities both more quickly and in better alignment with our mutual customers’ technology strategies.”

Thousands of customers worldwide use Siebel’s CRM and business intelligence solutions to significantly improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their customer-facing operations. Future extensions to Siebel’s underlying BPM capabilities promise to significantly increase the business agility that these solutions drive by:

* Providing businesses a higher-fidelity representation of how they should be and actually are operating
* More seamlessly supporting complex processes that span multiple applications and with which end users interact directly through a variety of touchpoints and interfaces
* Providing business users the ability to edit and modify business operations in real time

This initiative is the latest of many in Siebel Systems’ multiyear Global Strategic Alliance with Microsoft. Prior initiatives have delivered tight integration with a broad variety of Microsoft products, including many versions of Windows, Internet Explorer and Internet Information Server, SQL Server, Microsoft Office, Outlook, Windows SharePoint Services, and Exchange Server.

“We are pleased to be working closely with Siebel Systems on its next generation of customer-facing solutions,” said Eric Rudder, Senior Vice President of Servers and Tools at Microsoft Corp. “Windows Workflow Foundation will help Siebel enhance developer productivity and increase its customers’ ability to tailor workflows to meet their specific needs.”
