RAG subsidiary Degussa to raise prices of fumed silica

Degussa announces a 3-8% price increase, depending on the product grade and production location, for all AEROSIL® fumed silica grades and AERODISP® dispersions.

The price increase will take effect on August 1, 2007, excluding customers with existing contractual agreements.

The cost of major raw materials, labour and logistics (e.g. due to rising fuel prices) have increased substantially in previous months, making it unavoidable for Degussa to pass at least a minor portion of these cost increases on to its customers.
