IMG Expands Relationship with iPass to Create a Comprehensive Mobility Solution

iPass Inc. (NASDAQ: IPAS), a global provider of services that unify enterprise mobility management, today announced that The Information Management Group (IMG), a company of S&T, has significantly expanded their relationship with iPass. Under the new agreement IMG will deploy the iPass Device Management service to all employees to complement the iPass Mobile Office service already in use for global connectivity. By combining the two services—global connectivity and mobile device management—IMG will benefit from having systems management and software distribution integrated into the remote and mobile connections process increasing control and reducing costs for managing their large mobile workforce.

IMG has been using iPass Mobile Office for several years. Since implementing the service, IMG has been able to reduce its costs for mobile and remote access by more than 40 percent. By expanding the use of iPass services to include mobile and remote device management capabilities, IMG will benefit even more. While beneficial for use on all devices, iPass Device Management addresses the management challenges facing companies with numerous remote and mobile systems. The service helps enterprises discover, inventory, assess and update these hard-to-reach devices whenever they touch the Internet and includes features that take into account the low-bandwidth and intermittent connections these users occasionally face. In particular, by combining iPass’ connectivity and device management services, IMG will be able to distribute high-priority patches as a required part of the initial Internet connection while normal priority updates occur in the background during the user session.
