Free event on July 10 will promote members, businesses and community

NORTH HOLLYWOOD, CALIF., June 14, 2007 – The Universal City North Hollywood Chamber of Commerce today announced plans for its inaugural Business & Community EXPO 2007. The networking and information event will be Tuesday, July 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Beverly Garland’s Holiday Inn, 4222 Vineland Ave., North Hollywood, Calif. Admission is free, as are parking and refreshments.

Although the event is free, reservations are required because space is limited. Participants should RSVP as soon as possible to info@noho.org or call 818-508-5155 with name, company name, phone number, e-mail address and number in party.

“The expo will provide an exceptional opportunity for the business community and local residents to make connections to build their businesses and improve their neighborhoods,” said Tony Safoian, UCNH Chamber president and CEO of Sada Systems, an information technology consulting, outsourcing and development firm based in North Hollywood. “No where else will so many contacts and so much vital information come together locally under one roof. The chamber is a business organization on the move, and the expo will provide contacts vital to even greater progress for our community and our members.”

Informal networking will be a big part of the event. “Bring lots of business cards and a great attitude,” Safoian advised. “Speakers will discuss key developments in our area, as well as huge tax benefits and other advantages of the Enterprise Zone,” the chamber president said. “The BID (Business Improvement District) and its potential benefits to local businesses will be explained.”

Also on the program, Los Angeles Community Redevelopment Agency representatives will discuss area projects and promise exciting announcements, and the J.h. Snyder Co. will talk about the Valley Plaza and Laurel Plaza projects and their impact on the community. City representatives and Jacobs Pine Consulting will advise participants on how to leverage the benefits the new Enterprise Zone, and UCNH Chamber experts will explain how members can use the new chamber website as a business tool.

Named sponsors so far include NBC Universal, J.h. Snyder Co., Midtown NoHo Neighborhood Council and Jacobs Pine Consulting. Community sponsors are UCNH Chamber of Commerce, Community Redevelopment Agency/LA and City of Los Angeles Economic Development. Media sponsors are El Aviso Magazine and Sun Community Papers. Information tables and sponsorships are available for a fee. Please contact the chamber at the RSVP e-mail or phone number above.

“We expect a full attendance of business leaders and government and community members representing many enterprises and concerns. A business person looking for the competitive edge can’t afford to miss this golden opportunity,” said Safoian.
