Vinohrady’s Citizens to Choose Project to Improve Their Environment

Many a Vinohradyian has stumbled on a walkway under reconstruction at Vinohradská Street? Thee are those who wished their children could ride a bike to the Riegrovy Sady Park over a new, barrier-free road? Still others, have other things they would like to change in Vinohrady? Now Vinohrady’s citizens can pick the project they would most like to see. The world’s largest financial group, Citibank, is to mark the opening of a new branch at Vinohradská Street in July by helping locals improve Vinorahdy.

“We want to show the people that Citibank is not just a bank that brings people top financial services but also a good neighbor. It is our sincere pursuit to develop and support the environment of the locations where we operate. This is why we have decided to provide financial backing to a project in Prague’s Vinohrady, which the people from the quarter will choose,” says Pavel Kusý, head of Citibank’s marketing communications.

Influencing which project will be implemented is not difficult. Bill distributors wearing Citi T-shirts will be walking the streets of Vinohrady between June 9-20 and handing out bills. The bills will list three projects, which Citibank has chosen together with the Municipal District of Prague 2. All one has to do is choose one of the options or propose one’s own project and enroll it in the poll in one of the manners described on the bill. Voting is also possible online on a dedicated website at www.vasenovapobocka.cz. “The most requested project will then be implemented with Citibank’s financial backing,” Kusý said.

The branch at Vinohradská 32 is the first from a total of five new locations that Citibank will open in the capital this year. The branches will be unique in that they will be open twelve hours a day. “This is another move closer towards our customers. We know that people in the capital work until later and we do not want to make a visit to the bank a problem for them,” Kusý informed.

Citibank has decided to expand its branch network in Prague because this is where it has the largest pool of potential retail clients, to whom the bank offers top products and services thanks to being part of the world’s largest financial group. “Almost one half of Prague households has net income of over thirty thousand crowns a month. These people will be increasingly more discerning in their requirements for banking services and Citibank wants to open doors towards the best quality banking services for them,” Kusý added.
