The TLK1221 supports high-speed, full-duplex, point-to-point data transmissions at data rates from 600 Mbps to 1.3 Gbps, including GbE and CPRI data rates. This gives designers the flexibility and ease to upgrade their systems using this one device. The device also eliminates the need for external filter capacitors to further simplify design and reduce cost. Other key features include the following:

* Support for 10-bit interface
* Industrial temperature range from -40 degrees centigrade to 85 degrees centigrade
* IEEE 802.3 GbE compliant
* Comprehensive, built-in testability
* 2.5-V supply voltage for lowest power operation
* 3.3-V tolerance on LVTTL inputs
* Hot plug protection

The addition of the TLK1221 SerDes device complements Texas Instruments’ broad interface product offering including families of products for M-LVDS, LVDS, PECL, RS-485, PCI-Express and additional gigabit Ethernet SerDes devices. Please see the Interface Selection Guide for more information.

Availability and Packaging

The TLK1221 is available now in a 40-pin quad flat no lead (QFN) lead-free package and is priced at $3.25 each in 1,000-piece quantities.

TI offers analog engineers a wide-ranging support infrastructure that includes training and seminars, design tools and utilities, technical documentation, evaluation modules, an online KnowledgeBase, a product information hotline and a comprehensive offering of samples.
