Aker Kvaerner’s Technologies win OTC Acclaim

Aker Kvaerner’s focus on technology has been duly recognised by the 2007 Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). Aker Kvaerner’s PowerTrac® Cone Crusher(TM) and Aker Kvaerner’s SeaBooster(TM) technologies have both won 2007 OTC Spotlight on New Technology Awards.

The PowerTrac® Cone Crusher(TM) provides a new solution for cost efficient, safe and environmentally sound removal of scale from well completions. Aker Kvaerner’s SeaBooster(TM) increases production rate of oil wells requiring local pressure support by injecting sea water.

The OTC Spotlight on New Technology Awards showcases advanced technologies for the offshore oil and gas industry. Companies exhibiting at this year’s OTC submitted entries detailing why their innovative technology should be in the spotlight at OTC.

Aker Kvaerner has recently announced investments in: a new pilot facility is based on Aker Kvaerner’s Just CatchTM technology, which is considered to be a world leading concept for CO2 capture, a new manufacturing facility; a new high technology subsea manufacturing facility in Malaysia; a state-of-the-art upgrade of its subsea engineering and manufacturing facilities at Tranby in Norway; and a new purpose-built aftermarket facility in North Sam Houston Parkway West in Houston.

The OTC winning technologies will be honoured at the Spotlight on Technology presentation on Monday, 30 April at the OTC at Reliant Stadium in Houston, TX.
