Lester Betts’ “The Story of Greybo and Possum” takes center stage at the Guadalajara International Book Fair 2025, where its warmth is bound to win readers’ hearts.

“The Story of Greybo and Possum” is a delightful children’s picture book by Lester Betts dedicated to those who, like him, have a deep fondness for cats. The tale is filled with playful warmth and celebrates the simple joys of life through the eyes of two endearing feline friends. The tender charmers capture the innocence, curiosity, and wonder of youth, which will remind readers that even the smallest creatures can teach the biggest lessons about love, companionship, and happiness.

Betts himself is a lifelong animal lover. Born on a farm in 1945, he has always found himself smitten by kittens of all kinds. To him, cats are like children who love to play and get into every mischief they could find. Thus, he created Greybo and Possum to bring to life a story of friendship and joy.

As a first-time author, the fair represents a unique opportunity for Betts’ children’s book to reach international audiences and connect with literary professionals. The event also promises to be a commemoration of creativity, community, and storytelling that transcends borders, as well as a platform for stories like his to bring joy to readers.
