Average Price of $239 per carat at Diamond Fields’ last sale

Diamond Fields International reports that at its latest sale of alluvial diamonds recovered off the Namibian coast, 2,029 carats of rough were sold at an average of $239 per carat. The diamonds were mined in the framework of a joint venture with Bonaparte Diamond Mines.



95% of the mined diamonds were of gem quality. Total sales revenue reached $484,692. The largest stone weighed 7.72 carats and it was sold for $24,018, at an average of $3,111 per carat.



Up to March 21, the company sold 3,372 carats of rough in the framework of the joint venture at Diaz Point 1. The total sales value is $831,034.



Between March 21 and April 24, 8,735 additional diamonds weighing 3,468 carats were recovered. The average size is 0.40 carats. This production has not been sold as yet.
