Action Engine Completes The Certification Process Of Their Mobile Technology On Over 20 New BREW Powered Mobile Phone Models

Action Engine® Corporation, the on-device portal leader, today announced that they have completed the certification process of their mobile technology on over twenty new BREW® powered mobile phone models, including the popular Chocolate, RAZR and SLVR handsets. The support for these mass-market devices enables Action Engine software to run on the majority of handsets available today. The certification process was conducted in conjunction with Verizon Wireless as part of the BREW Developer program.

These new BREW enabled devices add to Action Engine’s growing list of supported handset models. The company’s on-device portal technology currently runs on BREW, Java, Windows Mobile and Symbian powered phones. Action Engine has also successfully completed testing and received certification for their over-the-air services update capabilities and software development kit on the additional BREW devices.

Mark Donovan, vice president of products for M:Metrics stated, “Although there are hundreds of devices being used in the market, our data demonstrates that mobile content is being consumed only on a subset of them. With the growing importance of generating high numbers of mobile advertising impressions, technology vendors are being evaluated on their ability to understand their audience and reach the most mobile consumers. The companies that focus application development on the devices that drive consumption among the most desirable demographics of mobile consumers will generate the highest revenues for their customers and ultimately win the largest share of the market.”

“We understand that device support is a real concern for any company that wants to offer their consumers the usability and personalization benefits that an on-device portal can provide. That is why Action Engine has made the testing and certification of devices one of the most critical elements of our operational strategy,” said Scott G. Silk, president and CEO of Action Engine. “A lot of our competitors claim to support large numbers of wireless devices but few of them have actually completed the rigorous testing process associated with a wireless operator launch. The addition of these new BREW handset models to our supported device portfolio continues to set Action Engine apart as the market leader in the on-device portal space.”
