Returning Military Vets Have Unique Health Care Needs

WEBWIRE

BLOOMINGTON, MN - HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education is helping medical professionals be more prepared to treat the specific issues our troops will face as they return home. In addition to addressing specific medical concerns, HealthPartners is hosting a conference that will feature an in-depth learning experience about military life in Iraq. Participants will experience a mission briefing, hands-on exposure to body armor and the combat environment and a 70-pound pack demonstration.

“With the recent revelation that some wounded and returning troops are not receiving the health care they deserve, our community is responding,” said Dr. Carl Patow, executive director of HealthPartners Institute for Medical Education. “This conference will address our returning troops’ unique needs that will challenge the entire medical health system.”
