New Author Adelpha L. DeGuzman Set to Exhibit Debut Fantasy Novel at PRLF 2024
The PRLF is more than just a massive outdoor book showcase. Every book also represents an author who represents one of America’s culturally diverse perspectives. Adelpha L. DeGuzman has decided to join this annual event as part of her lifelong dream to publish her work and arranged to showcase her first fantasy novel, “Axel: The Mysterious Tapestry.”
“My middle schooler really enjoyed this book. I’m excited to read it too!”
In one way, the Printers Row Lit Fest aspires to be a picturesque representation of American literature. It’s an outdoor book showcase that aims to feature the most extensive, most comprehensive selection of recent works. It invites numerous publishers and authors to take part. Many of these represent a wide range of nationalities and cultural perspectives that capture the rich diversity of the American people. For Adelpha L. DeGuzman, it’s the ideal venue for showcasing the fruits of her literary dreams.
DeGuzman is the author of “Axel: The Mysterious Tapestry,” a fantasy novel born from her decades-long desire to write fantasy once she had finally settled in America. After she had immigrated from her home country, she spent much of her career in accounting (even though she had never indeed given up on being a writer and publishing her book). The publishing of “Axel” marks the achievement of this long-held dream, and she’s excited to release something to become a solid Filipino contributor to world culture.
“Axel” follows the journey of its titular protagonist, a 14-year-old boy with a magical destiny. One day, he receives an ancient tapestry marked with the zodiac symbols. Before he can even think of what to do with it, the tapestry proves to be magical and takes him to an entirely different world where he becomes its prophesized savior. The world of “Axel” has its hero traveling to meet various tribes, sending him on challenges to collect powerful gems necessary for fulfilling his destiny.
Readers can see where his journey ends by checking out the book displayed at the ReadersMagnet exhibit. The Printers Row Lit Fest will take place on September 7 and 8 this year and will still be at its usual venue at Printers Row Park. Copies of the book are also available Amazon, Barnes & Noble and other online stores.
