Putting Science to Work: Marinex® with DuPont™ Teflon® Cookware in Brazil

Through a partnership with Santa Marina -- part of the Saint Gobain Group -- DuPont Brazil recently launched Marinex® with DuPont™ Teflon®, the first cookware made with heat resistant glass and non-stick properties.

A project to evaluate a new way of cooking was conducted in Brazil based on technical and marketing research. The final product combines the original features of Marinex®, which protects foods from contamination and conserves its properties, with the latest generation of non-stick Teflon®, which does not react with the food, is easy to clean, reduces oil and fat use and has longer durability than other non-stick surfaces for cookware.

The product was launched during the Gift Fair Brazil International, a business fair for domestic utilities, gifts and decorations. Marinex® with Teflon® will be available this month in São Paulo and throughout Brazil by the end of the year. Plans are to sell the product outside of Brazil in 2008.
