WEBWIRE

AT&T Inc. (NYSE: T) has announced a new data networking contract that AT&T has secured with AIDS Healthcare Foundation (AHF), the nation’s largest provider of HIV/AIDS medical care, with offices located within the United States and around the globe. Under the terms of the three-year contract, AT&T will serve as primary data services provider, delivering AT&T MPLS Virtual Private Network (VPN) to AHF’s eight locations throughout Florida.

AT&T VPN service is a fully managed network-based solution supported by AT&T’s MPLS-based IP-enabled network. This solution will allow secure and flexible data transport across multiple locations for AHF. The new networking system will also improve communications between the various locations by consolidating AHF’s communication network via a single, converged platform, which will help increase network efficiency for AHF. Additionally, the solution will include expanded bandwidth to support the use of electronic health records.

This solution will provide AHF with a seamless converged communications network between company headquarters and the remote locations. As a result, the solution provided by AT&T will allow AHF employees to administer exemplary care to its patients through faster response time and advanced medical applications.

“Patient care is crucial to our success as an organization, so we needed to replace our existing service with one that could support our advanced medical applications and unify our multiple networks,” said Pablo Roman, director of information technology, AIDS Healthcare Foundation. “The solution provided by AT&T will enable us to share clinical applications between locations and access critical patient information from anywhere in the network, enabling us to deliver enhanced care to our patients.”
