Author Recy Dunn Presents Circle of Time, a Scintillating Thriller Set in the Backdrop of African History

South Africa has endured dark times in its history. The first was the British capture of the Cape of Good Hope in 1806, which compelled many Boers to create their republics. The second is the defeat of over 10,000 Zulu warriors by the Boers in 1838. They felt that white supremacy over African-Americans was God’s will. The discovery of diamonds and gold resulted in tremendous wealth but also reinforced the oppression of the indigenous people. Then there was the Anglo-Zulu War, a conflict between the British Empire and the Zulu Kingdom in 1879. This incident was significant in the history of imperialism in the region since it led to a British triumph and the end of the Zulu nation’s independence. Finally, in the twentieth century, racial segregation, often known as Apartheid, was implemented via legislation by National Party administrations from 1948 to 1994. The rights of South Africa’s majority black population were constrained, and white supremacy was maintained, making the country an uncomfortable place for black people to live.

In “Circle of Time,” Recy Dunn, a Texas real estate broker, pens a scintillating thriller set in the backdrop of South African history during Apartheid. He creates a fictional character—Jan Linden, a police lieutenant from Johannesburg, South Africa. When his father got killed in a bombing, Linden is certain that there is a conspiracy between African tribes that are linked to Apartheid. Determined to bring justice for his father, Linden sets out to unveil the truth behind his father’s death and the two linked murders he was investigating.
