Sandra Burkitt Presents “A Stroke of Courage,” an Endearing Book that Demonstrates the Power of Genuine Friendship

Miami, FL – WEBWIRE

“A Stroke of Courage” depicts the persistence of a 12-year-old girl. Gillian is an excellent diver, but this talent has added to her already overburdened young shoulders. She has a few social issues on top of her household duties, schoolwork, and a diving lesson to attend. Her teachers and diving instructor, as well as her parents, are furious with her. Her fourteen-year-old neighbor, Danny, who has begun scowling at her, the envious Sarah who torments her at diving class, and of course, who doesn’t have a younger brother who enjoys making her life miserable? However, Gillian has Sully, her greatest friend, and confidante, and she has Marla too, her teammate from the diving team. Because of them, Gillian continues to excel in her sport.

Unfortunately, Gillian gets injured and Aunt Sully suffers from a stroke at the same time. The two of them got separated for what seemed to be forever. Gillian successfully nurses herself back to shape for competitions. But on her first-ever attempt after her injury, she has doubts, fears, and overwhelming anxiety. Will she overcome? Or will she succumb to her fears? Perhaps, one person can ease all her worries away.

Sandra Burkitt’s touching book will elicit wholesome emotions for readers as she draws them into a beautiful story about friendship and the tenacity of a 12-year-old girl as the backdrop. She invokes inspiration through the unrelenting heart of Gillian and her love for diving and Aunt Sully. She creatively explores the depths of human connections and how friendships can sometimes run deeper than our families. The book is truly an endearing read and one that brings practical value to your life and relationships.
