Janet V. Grillo’s life was turned upside down when she was thrown into a world she had never experienced before. She was an innocent wife and mother until she discovered her husband’s hidden life following his untimely, inexplicable death. Janet learned of her husband’s several extramarital affairs and potential ties to the Philadelphia mafia. She began to doubt all she knew about her life and marriage, including whether her husband’s death was a suicide, aided suicide, suicide suggestion, or murder.

Janet recognized she needed to do something to recover after slipping into deep despair and having suicidal thoughts. She acquired a new purpose for her life as she went through this process. She now helps others to overcome their issues. When people experience their darkest times—whether because of a loved one’s death, a catastrophe, or their challenges—“God Promised Me Wings to Fly: Life for Survivors After Suicide” inspires and empowers them to seek for and find their purpose in life.

Readers will walk alongside Janet as she unravels the riddles she faces and feel her heart as she recounts how her Christian faith helped her to survive and overcome adversity in “God Promised Me Wings to Fly.” Readers will learn that, while the road to recovery after a traumatic loss can be ugly and slow, life does not end there, and God has a plan for them if they simply hang in there. Readers may begin the healing process sooner rather than later in the midst of their own suffering and challenges and will find hope in this honest, open, real, and inspiring account of Janet’s life journey.
