LUKOIL’s Gas Production at Its Uzbekistan Projects Reaches One Hundred Billion Cubic Metres

WEBWIRE

The cumulative natural gas production reached 100 bcm at the projects implemented by LUKOIL in Uzbekistan since 2004. This mark became a notable achievement on the eve of LUKOIL’s 30th anniversary.

The bulk of this gas (over 70%) was extracted at the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady fields in the Bukhara region. In 2008, the Khauzak-Shady field reached its projected production rate of four bcm per year. In 2017, LUKOIL commissioned the Kandym Gas Processing Complex with the annual capacity of 8.1 bcm of gas per year. The complex is designed to convert sulphurous gas into marketable gas, stable gas condensate, and block sulphur.

LUKOIL operates in Uzbekistan under two production sharing agreements: for the Kandym-Khauzak-Shady project and South-West Gissar project. The Company conducts field development and well site construction, as well as natural gas extraction, its treatment and conversion to marketable gas. The gas produced in Uzbekistan by LUKOIL is in demand both in national and international markets.
