Ford Edge Connects With Canadian Customers

WEBWIRE

OAKVILLE, Ontario, – February was another good month for the Canadian-built Ford Edge as dealers report that buyers are driving away in the stylish crossover shortly after the new models arrive in their showrooms.

“With the year just underway, the Ford Edge continues to really make a connection with consumers, and there are more exciting new products coming,” said Bill Osborne, president and CEO, Ford of Canada. “We continue to demonstrate our leadership in trucks with the 2008 Super Duty, which is currently arriving at dealerships, along with the new-look Escape. The re-launch of an icon will be realized as the redesigned Taurus and Taurus X arrive in dealerships later this year.”

In February, Ford Motor Company of Canada, Limited, saw overall combined sales decrease 11.2 per cent at 13,502 units. And while total truck sales were down 6.2 per cent, the Ford F-150, Ranger and Explorer all experienced sales increases last month. Car sales of 3,311 units marks a 23.7 per cent decline compared to the same month last year.
