Wal-Mart Donates Cash To Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigations For Forensic Lights

Bentonville, Ark. – Wal-Mart Regional Asset Protection Manager John Glore presented a check for $16,925.71 to the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) Director DeWade Langely earlier this week at OSBI’s headquarters in Oklahoma City. The award is part of Wal-Mart’s grassroots style of giving, which emphasizes donating cash contributions groups and organizations important to each community.

The grant funds are earmarked by OSBI to purchase nine new forensic lights which aid crime scene agents. Specifically, the lights will detect body fluids, trace evidence and latent fingerprints.

“Every day the men and women from the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation answer the call to serve their community” said John Glore. “We recognize the tremendous work they do, day in and day out, for our customers and associates, and this donation is one way we can thank them for their service.”

In 2005, Wal-Mart Stores and Sam’s Club gave $6,021,674 in cash and in-kind donations to local causes and organizations in the communities they serve in the state of Oklahoma.
