ONGMONT, Colo.-February 28, 2007-Seagate Technology® (NYSE: STX), the world’s leading supplier of hard drives, announced today it will issue scholarships to local students for 2007-08 enrollments in the colleges of engineering at Colorado State University and University of Colorado at Boulder. Incoming freshmen recipients will receive $2,000, and returning student recipients will receive $1,000, based on the following criteria: grade point average, financial need, community involvement and technical innovation/creativity.

“Each year, we see applicants who exhibit a real passion for the sciences, an innovative spirit and an interest in applying technology in ways that will benefit society,” said Andy Davis, vice president of Design Engineering at Seagate. “This is the third year for our local scholarship program, and we’ve already seen how it’s helped fund a very bright future for some very bright students who just need a bit more financial backing to attend college and pursue a career in engineering.”

Applications for the Seagate Scholarship Program are available on the company’s Web site at: http://www.seagate.com/newsinfo/citizenship/community/scholarship.html. Completed applications will be accepted through April 12, 2007. Recipients of the Seagate Scholarship will be notified in late April.

Scholarship applicants must be admitted at the university of choice (CSU or CU) and have a completed Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form on file in the university’s financial aid office. Incoming freshmen scholarship recipients will receive the first half of the scholarship ($1,000) in the fall 2006 semester and the final payment in the spring 2007 semester, with both payments directly deposited into their tuition account. Likewise, returning student recipients will receive the first half of the scholarship ($500) in the fall semester, and the final payment in the spring semester, with the same deposit process.
