Ph.D. Holder and Author, Reynaldo Pareja, Presents an Anthology of Letters Every Expecting Father Can Relate to

Bringing forth a delicate and vulnerable life into the world is one of the greatest joys an individual can experience. It is a turbulent time wherein everything feels surreal and overwhelming. To women, carrying the child in their womb is already an inseverable connection. Because cultural stereotypes permit women to be emotional, they may wear their hearts on their sleeves. However, for many soon-to-be fathers, expressing their true feelings goes against the grain. Men should be strong, detached from their emotions, and never cry, whether they are pleased or unhappy.

However, Reynaldo Pareja, who holds a Ph.D. in Communication and Sociology, while his wife shared with him the sensations, emotions, and experiences of the birth of their first baby a few years ago, allowed himself to write freely and without guilt about the sentiments that filled his heart and head. He did so by sending letters to his unborn baby in which he described his feelings about his wife’s pregnancy as a father-to-be.
