Praise Continues for Jeffrey Marshall’s “Undetected”

Jeffrey Marshall’s psychological thriller, “Undetected”, continues to draw strong reviews and accolades from readers. The book and the author have been featured in numerous radio interviews and several podcasts focused on the novel and with topics associated with writing and publishing, and the book was named to the Notable 100 Indie book list for 2020 by Shelf Unbound. “Undetected” is also the subject of negotiations for a screenplay and potential film treatment.

“Undetected”, published last year by Atlanta-based GoToPublish, is Marshall’s second novel. It centers on a black widow, Suzy Perry, who marries a new family in Westchester County, NY. They know little about her or her prior life, and her new son-in-law, Alex, a journalist, finds himself troubled by questions he can’t answer and hires a private detective to probe Suzy’s past. Over time, these suspicions build, as does evidence that Suzy isn’t what she seems. Confronted with some of these findings, she flees across the country and into the welcoming arms of a childhood friend – and toward a new life with a new name.

Kirkus Reviews has lauded the book for “hitting the sweet spot between sympathy and revulsion for a probable killer” and cited the novel’s “lively conversation and playful descriptions.” A New York literary agent said: “the premise of the novel is imaginative, compelling, and commercially appealing.” Other reviewers have called the book “compelling and addictive,” “an excellent, suspenseful story,” and “the ideal book if you’re in the mood for a solid suspense novel to while away on the weekend.”

Marshall’s plunge into fiction followed a thirty-five-year career in journalism. He has been published widely in newspapers and magazines, including The New York Times, and was at various times a reporter, editor, feature writer, columnist, and book reviewer, as well as the chief editor of two national business magazines. He was also a winner or co-winner of numerous editorial awards for magazine writing and design.

“Undetected” is available on Amazon and other online book platforms. For more information or to order the book directly, see http://undetecbk.com or contact the author at marshwj17@gmail.com.
