Poetry has long been associated with creativity and freedom. It empowers a poet to create heart-tugging masterpieces. Poems have the power to transport a reader into transcendental realms and into a state of pondering through words and emotions. It has the ability to engage a person’s psyche and soul while also allowing the imagination to run free. Boardman is treading this artistic path, and she welcomes us to her heart and mind through her book, “Facets.”
Patricia J. Boardman, a native of Kokomo, Indiana, has a master’s degree from Indiana University and is a retired English teacher. Boardman has always been a fan of art, music, travel, reading, and poetry, and she has now presented us with an anthology that talks about life’s sorrow and beauty.
“Facets” is a lovely way to spend a peaceful evening for anybody who likes poetry. This collection encompasses a wide range of topics and styles. It’s a collection of some of life’s most unforgettable moments. A roller-coaster ride’s excitement, a baby’s birth, and a doting grandmother’s careful nurturing are just a few of the things that make up this book. The pages within the book cover many aspects of life, including family, laughter, anguish, reality, and beholding the beauty of life. This book is about the innate nature of humans.
“There is a poem in this book for every reader--a poem that will touch the heart, evoking the response, ‘Yes, it’s just like that.’” – Boardman writes.
