New York – WEBWIRE

Christie’s is pleased to present the second iteration of Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle (August 4-18). This curated online-only auction celebrates the world’s most sought-after gemstone—the diamond. The combination of a diamond’s unparalleled hardness and crystalline purity has merited its celebrated status and established the stone as the pinnacle of all gemstones. From classic colorless diamonds, to a wide variety of rare colors spanning pinks, oranges, greens, browns and yellows this sale offers comprehensive selection of the celebrated stone including a dedicated selection of jewels offered without reserve.

Leading the sale is the spectacular 24.45 carat D color, IF, Type IIa heart-shaped diamond pendant ($1,550,000-2,550,000). With its estimate of $1.55 to 2.55 million, this magnificent stone is the highest valued jewel ever offered in an online sale at Christie’s, eclipsing the previous record set in June 2020. Another top highlight is ‘The Summer Sunrise,’ a stunning Fancy Vivid Orange Yellow diamond ring of 9.83 carats, VS1 clarity ($600,000-800,000), which brilliantly captures the warmth of the season.

A Spectacular Diamond Necklace Offered in Jewels Online: Summer Sparkle | August 4-18

The 24.45 carat, D color, heart modified brilliant-cut diamond possesses a purity of color and transparency which can only be found in world’s finest natural diamonds. This magnificent stone also belongs to the rare Type IIa category, which make up less than 2% of all diamonds. Type IIa diamonds are the most chemically pure and are characterized by their exceptional transparency. These stones have no traces of the colorant nitrogen, which create a purity of color that is observed only in the finest diamonds originating from the fabled mines of Golconda, Brazil and South Africa.

Other sale highlights include classic diamond jewelry offered at no reserve, such as a diamond ring of 6.29 carats, D color, IF ($250,000-350,000); diamond earrings with each diamond weighing 5.01 carats and D color ($180,000-220,000); and an emerald-cut diamond ring of 5.06 carats, H color ($50,000-60,000). Additionally, the sale features striking colored diamonds in unique settings offering fresh takes on traditional engagement rings such as a fancy vivid yellow diamond ring of 3.02 carats ($60,000 – 80,000) and a fancy intense pink diamond, colored diamond and diamond ring ($40,000-60,000).

Each category of jewelry is represented, whether you are in the market for a diamond ring in a timeless setting, statement chandelier earrings, or an impressive necklace, this shimmering summer sale is not to be missed. Bidding begins on 4 August at 10 a.m. EDT and will begin closing lot by lot on 18 August at 10 a.m. EDT.
