Maude Portigliatti to join the Michelin group Executive Committee as Executive Vice President, High Tech Materials

Maude Portigliatti, currently Senior Vice President, Advanced Research at Michelin, will join the Group Executive Committee as Executive Vice President, High Tech Materials, effective July 1, 2021.

Maude Portigliatti will succeed Sonia Artinian-Fredou, who is leaving Michelin. Over the past six years, Sonia Artinian-Fredou has helped transform the High Tech Materials Business Department into one of the company’s future growth drivers. The Group would like to extend its warmest thanks to Sonia Artinian-Fredou for her contribution to Michelin’s growth.

Maude Portigliatti is a graduate of INSA Lyon engineering school, where she majored in materials physics. She also holds a research master’s degree in materials science and a PhD in polymer physics from the Condensed Matter Physics Laboratory, led at the time by Pierre-Gilles de Gennes of the Collège de France.

Maude Portigliatti joined the Michelin Group in 2000. After helping to set up a new Materials R&D Department in 2007, she was appointed Group Scientific Director in 2013.

She became Innovation Deployment Programs Director within the Automotive Original Equipment Business Line in 2017, serving the Group’s key customers in North America, Europe and Asia.

In 2019, Maude Portigliatti took the helm of Advanced Research for the Group, where she was in charge of developing Michelin innovations for the tire and
high-tech materials segments.
