Dominion Energy South Carolina Helps Business Customers Reduce Energy Costs

South Carolina businesses are saving energy and receiving thousands of dollars for their energy efficiency projects with Dominion Energy’s EnergyWise for Your Business program. Recently announced incentive updates could provide additional help to qualifying customers with lighting and other energy efficiency upgrades. The new incentive structure allows businesses to qualify for multiple energy efficiency projects each program year. Participating business customers can now apply for up to $100,000 per eligible project type and customer tax ID annually, subject to terms and conditions.

The EnergyWise for Your Business program helps non-residential electric customers replace aging, inefficient equipment and systems with energy-efficient technologies. The program is flexible and meets the needs of a wide variety of businesses by combining financial incentives and technical assistance. In 2020, Dominion Energy provided more than $2.8 million in incentives to businesses in South Carolina for over 400 projects.

“Our two cost-effective program options – custom and prescriptive – help program participants find the best solution for their business,” said Annika Goodson, program manager. “In most cases, customers should talk to us before beginning projects. That way we can help them determine the best approach to suit their needs and optimize the project incentives that are available.”

The program’s prescriptive approach offers predetermined incentives for a wide selection of proven energy-efficiency technologies, including:

• Lighting (retrofits)
• New construction lighting
• HVAC unitary systems
• HVAC chillers
• HVAC variable frequency drives
• Food service and high-efficiency equipment

The program’s custom approach offers incentives for more complex and site-specific, energy-efficiency projects, including:

• Energy management systems
• Compressed air systems
• Whole Building Solutions
• Building Tune-Up
