Maxim Announces Partnership Agreement With Epson Of Japan For The Fabrication And Supply Of Mixed-Signal Semiconductors

SUNNYVALE, CA–February 7th, 2007 – Maxim Integrated Products, Inc. (Nasdaq: MXIM; www.maxim-ic.com) announces today that it has concluded a partnership agreement with Seiko Epson Corp. (www.epson.co.jp/e/) for Epson to manufacture
Maxim’s leading-edge mixed signal semiconductor products designed for power management and battery-management applications. These products will be manufactured in their state-of-the-art submicron 200mm fab located in Sakata, Japan and will ship primarily to the Japanese and Asian Pacific markets.
As part of this alliance, Maxim and Epson will bilaterally trade key mixed-signal process technologies and deploy them at Epson’s Sakata fab. This technology transfer has already begun and will ramp to high-volume production through CY’07.
