The Search for the Greatest Gift and Experiencing Life on the Road

Peggy Warren, a wordsmith, shares her life and experiences.

Midlife often presents challenges in this life. Such is the case in Peggy Warren’s novel, “Gathering Peace.” The hero is forty year old Sam, father of three who quits his job, sells their 15 room house, buys a 32 ft. Airstream and moves the family and 2 poodles into the trailer. He has the support of his wife, his thirteen year old son, but not so much his popular fifteen year old son. Disregarding any objections, and with great anticipation, he sets off across the country in search of a new career idea. Hoping to park the trailer beside isolated babbling brooks, he’s upset to find that only public campgrounds will accommodate the ensemble.

The confinement of life in campgrounds is beyond frustrating for Sam, causing him to constantly holler: “All I want is peace and quiet.” Zoey, his eleven year daughter knows the meaning of quiet, but goes on a search for the meaning of peace so she can give the plea to her father for his birthday. On the journey, she will introduce the reader to several people who share their feelings about the meaning of the unusual gift.
In Zoey’s voice, Warren will take us on this journey and will lead us on a tour that will show a glimpse of the overall joys and pains of life. She was able to effectively utilize her life story and showcase her experiences in a manner that educates every reader. Her writing style created a poignant adult perspective through the voice of a child. Warren’s savvy was also on full display with her excellent character and scene development. She was able to communicate and convey the right emotions and can certainly pull the heartstrings.
It is one masterpiece that certainly has all the makings of a bestseller. Its candidness can reach into the deepest parts of the heart and will truly instill the value of family. Don’t miss out on this book. Get your copy now at
