Color2colour LLC, announces its first round of co-development agreements for the commercialization of its spectrally integrated color tool solutions application with ASU Poly. Edward Mugits, Owner and developer, brings life to the architectural renderings value by integrating the primary components of the renderings and the actual coatings color and appearances in their primary environments, Day, fluorescent and incandescent. Our application integrates the input (color source) visual (monitor) output (printer) substrates (9 profiles), to the actual paint, in color and appearance within the three environments for the elimination of metamerism. Color2Colour solutions enable rendering true flats, satins and gloss levels that meet Master Paint Institute, (MPI) specifications.
Our application is going to enable the seamless production of different appearance values on the same substrate within the same print job. It will enhance and differentiate the appearances such as a door and trim with a sheen level higher than its adjacent flat wall.
This will add a new dimension to the 2D world of art for any type of production.
The gaps within the industry have led to quite a disappointing outcome for the consumers and frustration for the architects and designers caught in the middle. With the conventional color tools, a brochure or sales aid generally has a secondary sourced supplier of swatches of the color depicted in rendering,(printed in lacquer) that are physically affixed to the pre printed brochure. The color swatches are the representative color samples of a given coating manufacturers paint, what we end up with is the paint does not match the swatches and the swatches do not match the rendering in color or appearance.
We have integrated the process and devices with their color spaces to the actual paint in a virtual environment.
Our application enables architect to architectural coating integration. The architect can create a color, capture its digital fingerprint, transfer it through the various color spaces and environments to the finished rendering, and generate a spectrally created CMYK paint formula for the paint manufacturer to match or, select from a paint mf’s digital color pallete and profile it for the rendering; in either case the creator has the spectral data of its rendering to be matched and the paint manufacturer produces a certificate of spectral match within the agreed tolerance to supply. We have eliminated the secondary detached processes of swatches.
We enable the designers and architects to create their own unique color profiles for renderings on various substrates for a variety of effects.
On demand printing of renderings so close to the actual end product, that they’ll be the only one who knows it isn’t paint. The system is integrated to a customer database with its job specific digital fingerprints for replication, job after job, on demand verses large inventories for all parties. Finishes are Water resistant and light fast for 7 years. In addition, its network friendly with global calibration of all devices and instrument-to-instrument agreement of replicate able status.
The commercialization will facilitate the Coating manufacturers solution for a Paint-less sample of their current color system or the creation of a unique color campaign. It gives them the tools to be creative and independent of the outsourced suppliers and their gaps. They can integrate with the architects, designers and developers with a print on demand system of replicate able status.
Our system is also being linked to the LEED and Green Building qualified coatings manufacturers for the architects benefit.
This is exciting, as the former plant manager of a large architectural coatings manufacturer, my first hand experience and depth of color management and its gaps, have allowed me to collaboratively produce the most advanced solution there is to offer. The intellectual property rights of this unique application have been a great asset to our paint programs continued success.
