What if the mundane routine of life compels you to take on a challenge that will change your life forever? What if it takes you into the trenches of uncertainty? Are you going to take it on? This is exactly how the life of H. Lynn Beck changed forever. And in his book, “Living in El Salvador: A Nebraska Farm Boy Joins the Peace Corps,” he will lead us into a look back on one of his life’s greatest adventures.

The book is Beck’s memoir during the time he spent in the Spanish-speaking countries of Puerto Rico and El Salvador. Scribbled in the book are candid recollections of the author as he had weaved one part of his life. Beck grew up on a family farm in Nebraska and later on went to the University of Nebraska at Lincoln to study agriculture. One fated afternoon while on campus, marked the twist that will forever leave a mark in his heart. The longing for an adventure made him signup as a volunteer for the Peace Corps bound for Central America.

Join Beck as he recounts the times he had spent with the beautiful people of Puerto Rico and El Salvador. He will immerse every reader into the culture and way of life of the people from these two countries. He will also entertain us with his wit, which is tastefully infused with humor. The descriptive writing style of Beck will invoke mental images that usher and improves understanding. On top of these, the book will certainly open up a new understanding of how Peace Corps volunteers play an essential part in the development of some countries.

Peace Corps volunteers do have different facets, but the facet we often overlooked is the one that shows them as unsung heroes that certainly deserve more attention and recognition. Grab a copy now and get to know these heroes.
