For the third year in a row, we are proud to be designated a Best Place to Work for LGBTQ+ equality

WEBWIRE

Vox Media is proud to announce that for the third year in a row, we have earned a 100 percent rating on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index (CEI), the nation’s foremost benchmarking survey and report measuring corporate policies and practices related to LGBTQ workplace equality. The CEI rates companies on detailed criteria falling under four central pillars:

  • Non-discrimination policies across business entities;
  • Equitable benefits for LGBTQ workers and their families;
  • Supporting an inclusive culture; and,
  • Corporate social responsibility.

At Vox Media, we seek to create meaningful policies, benefits, and practices to ensure that all of our people can bring their authentic selves to work every day – and feel included and supported regardless of identity. For example, our non-discrimination policies specifically include sexual orientation and gender identity, and we offer inclusive medical benefits, with transgender-inclusive health care coverage and parity between same and different-sex spousal benefits.

Creating an inclusive environment for the LGBTQ+ community is ongoing and involves everyone at Vox Media – whether it’s producing editorial and creative content that covers and amplifies LGBTQ+ voices; leading and engaging in Vox Media’s Employee Resource Group, Queer Vox Club’s, discussions and events; or building audience-facing community experiences like SB Nation’s Outsports’ annual Pride event.

This designation joins other accolades: Vox Media has been named Digiday’s Best Employer for Parents, Fast Company’s Most Innovative Companies in Media, and one of Washingtonian’s 50 Great Places to Work. To learn more about the different ways Vox Media is working to support employees and audiences of all backgrounds, identities, and perspectives, please see our commitment to amplifying voices and holding ourselves accountable to this work.
