118 trades to launch new ‘Find a Trusted Trader’ Service

118 trades, the UK’s leading directory service of tradespeople and businesses with checkable references is launching a new advertising campaign based around finding reference checked tradespeople for the public. The free to use service launches in February 2007

Speaking about the announcement, Daniel Corby, Group CEO said “Demand for quality referenced tradespeople and businesses is at an all time high and we feel that now is the right time to launch this advertising campaign across the UK. The service will allow the public to ring a freephone number, give details of the job that they need doing, and be put in touch free of charge with a business which has been pre referenced by 118 trades, taking the guess work out of using tradespeople”

Bradley Chapman, Commercial Director of 118 Group said “This service will launch nationally in the UK in mid February 2007 and the freephone service will be manned between 9am and 6pm Monday to Friday. There will not be any automatic answer services, each and every call will be answered within three rings by a trained operative. We will be able to put the user in touch with a referenced tradesperson free of charge after asking a few simple questions. Surrey Trading Standards estimated in 2005 that the UK wastes around £1 Billion on using rogue tradespeople and we believe that 118trades is the ideal solution to this growing problem”
