Imagine Optic, Europe’s leading manufacturer of wavefront metrology and adaptive optics
technology, reaffirms its commitment to developing the North American market with the opening
of its new office In the heart of Boston’s optics cluster.

Orsay, France and Boston, MA, January 18, 2007 – As part of its continuing growth strategy, Imagine Optic is proud to announce the opening of its new office at the Cambridge Innovation Center, located in the heart of Boston’s thriving optics cluster. In addition to this reinforced presence in the United States, the company has equally entered into two new distribution partnerships with BNT in California and ESDI in Arizona.

Imagine Optic is Europe’s leading provider of Shack-Hartmann wavefront analysis and adaptive optics hardware and software technologies, and is strongly positioned to respond to growing customer demand in the US. “Establishing a permanent presence in the Unites States is key to showing our commitment to offer the highest quality products, services and support to our US customers” says Samuel Bucourt, CEO and co-founder of Imagine Optic, adding that “our Boston office will enable us to strengthen our ties with our existing customers in North America, and to further develop our presence in one of the world’s most dynamic markets.”

Since the opening of their new offices in Boston in 2006, the company’s US sales figures have more than doubled, totaling 10% of the company’s total sales for that year. This growth resulted from the arrival of several prestigious new clients including Berkeley University, Lockheed Martin, the LLE Laboratory at Rochester University, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory and UCSF. Imagine Optic plans on further investing in the US market with additions to its sales and marketing staff planned for later this year in order to achieve the goal of 20% of total sales coming from the North American market in 2007.

Imagine Optic earned €2.4 million in 2006, largely thanks to its strong position in the scientific market and the release of several groundbreaking products. The company reinvests a significant part of its earnings into its research and development program that is targeted towards expanding the applications of its wavefront sensing, analysis and adaptive optics technologies into new industries, most notably the consumer electronics industry.
