Nick Trozzi Spills His (Running) Life Story in the “Journal of a Road Warrior”

After running 2000-plus officially organized races in the course of five decades, Trozzi, who is also an actor, looks back at the fond and nostalgic memories he forged

CA, USA – WEBWIRE

Nick Trozzi regales readers with stories from his life on the track and insight on what has changed in the running world.

Nick Trozzi published his memoir “Journal of a Road Warrior” (Page Publishing; 2019), through which he reminisces stories and memories of his life down the running track.

“Journal of a Road Warrior” has many life and running stories and photos, and is written not only for runners but also for everyone who would like to emulate Trozzi’s discipline, focus, and dedication to running.

Readers, particularly running enthusiasts, should know that Trozzi took running as a hobby, not as a career. What made him run, though? He was greatly fueled by both his competitive spirit and a great desire for victory. During his guest appearance on This Week in America, he explained to host Ric Bratton about how a family event got him into running. To watch his full video interview, go to YouTube and search his name “Nick Trozzi”, book “Journal of A Road Warrior” and “Ric Bratton”.

“On the Fourth of July, we always had a family picnic. Most of our relatives showed up and we’d have these events like egg toss, sack races, sprints, and basically we ran and had fun. At the end, we’d get awards.

“I had a cousin who would beat all of our male cousins at 7 to 12 years old. She was a very good runner. Then they changed the event to this ‘bottle with a sponge in a tub’ and we had to fill the bottle up, and that was the first time I won… I did win for the first time. It really feels good to win an event.”

Bratton asked Trozzi about the camaraderie among runners and the relationships he had developed over running 2,000-plus races.

“I met many people with like minds because when you’re a runner, you’d like to talk about the courses that we’ve run for the 5Ks, 10Ks, or marathons and go over ‘What part was tough for you?’, ‘What did you like?’. Then you know everybody that runs were usually non-smokers and we admire the fact that we want to stay in shape and be healthy.”
