Alexandria, VA – WEBWIRE

CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union believes that learning should never stop! This summer, the credit union is bringing baseball back through its Home Run Reading Challenge, which helps children learn about money management. While sharpening their reading skills, children can earn up to $25 for their savings account by reading great books about savings and how to manage money at an early age.

Read and Earn Cash:

  • Read one book, move to first base and earn $5.
  • Read two books and you’re on second base and earn $5 more.
  • Read three books, advance to third base and earn another $5.
  • Read four books and you’ve hit a HOME RUN, earn $5 and receive a $5 bonus!

Children ages 3 to 12 are eligible to earn $5 for each book they read, plus the $5 bonus when they complete four books for a home run. Their cash prize of up to $25 will be deposited into their CommonWealth One Federal Credit Union Youth Savings Account, where they can earn 2.1% APY on the first $1,000 they deposit.

To participate, visit www.cofcu.org/reading-challenge. Choose four books from the age-appropriate reading lists, download the reading log, and the child can start reading today! Parents or guardians should email the signed, completed reading log to marketing@cofcu.org by Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 for the child to be eligible for the deposit reward.
