Elsevier MDL releases MDL® Assay Explorer® 3.1

San Ramon, CA - January 3, 2007 - Elsevier MDL has released MDL® Assay Explorer® 3.1, an enhanced version of the powerful life science experiment management tool that allows biologists to capture methodology and to manage results within one flexible system. The new release features Assay Explorer for Excel, which allows biologists to create, view and analyze experiments in a familiar spreadsheet environment while capturing the data in a central repository, enabling project teams to make better decisions faster.

As part of the Assay Explorer analysis package, Assay Explorer for Excel includes the same comprehensive set of curve fitting routines appropriate for data collected during lead generation and lead optimization experiments. Assay Explorer 3.1 is ideal for biologists conducting non-plate-based experiments since they already use Excel. This familiarity is a time saver for scientists because there is virtually no learning curve; data is captured, calculated, analyzed and saved to a database directly from Excel. Scientists use the native Excel functionality they already know, such as sorting, graphing and calculations.
