The author describes a personal experience that led to his formulation of an approach to life that results in feelings of true, deep happiness. He shares his analysis of this epiphany and its effects on his philosophical views throughout his book. He explains how his views are supported by theories of evolution, the events of human history, and by what we can learn from philosophers, certain movies, our sports stars and other elements of popular culture.

Dr. Justus encourages readers to discover and cherish their own unique sources of happiness. He discusses how his theory can be applied to the more important roles we play in our lives.
