ITU Telecoms World Hong Kong, 4 December 2006 – Leading provider of prepaid loyalty technologies to mobile operators, Business Logic Systems, (Stand 11122.005, UK Pavilion Hall 11), announces major expansion to its Asia-Pacific operations in support of its growing regional client base and the continued boom in prepaid users across all networks in Asia and around the Pacific Rim.

In September the company won a contract as sub-contractor to LogicaCMG, with Malaysia’s largest Tier 1 3G mobile operator, Celcom, for the supply and deployment of the company’s InTeleStage Loyalty Suite v6. This solution will enable the operator to conduct all the necessary stages of a successful loyalty strategy across its network.

In June, the company won another contract with Celcom for the supply and deployment of its InTeleStage Self Care solution, an ‘in-bound marketing tool’ offering customers the ability to manage and handle their own accounts using a Web or WAP browser.

Earlier in Q2, KL-based VP, Vicks Kanagasingam, was appointed as Business Logic Systems’ new President for the Asia-Pacific Region and Central Asia, a role in which he is now overseeing expansion of the company’s regional offices in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Sydney.

The post also involves the development of new sales opportunities, including plans to establish regional customer technical support services and product development facilities. Kanagasingam has been responsible for sales and customer relationships with clients in Afghanistan, Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Malaysia, Pakistan and Thailand.

In line with this, the company has expanded its current Kuala Lumpur CITIBank Tower premises in the city’s CBD, both physically and through an active recruitment programme, which has resulted in the appointments of three key members of staff who will be responsible for technical support and customer sales.

At its North Sydney office, the company has expanded its capabilities to provide local technical support for current and future clients, and a new office in Bangkok to provide similar support for current and prospective clients, both in country and the wider region, has also been opened.

Vicks Kanagasingam, commenting on the regional expansion, said, “The massive growth of prepaid across Asia and the Asia-Pacific Region, and the important role prepaid has to play in offering accessible mobile communications to all levels of the population, means that operators need our solutions if they are to maximise prepaid-customer-loyalty-related revenue streams, which are potentially huge.

“We also see Australia and New Zealand as being key target markets for our future operations where operators could most certainly benefit from the implementation of our solutions,” he concluded.

David Walker, CEO of Business Logic Systems, added, “The KL office now provides a total turnkey regional support service for our clients. Not only will we continue to handle sales, but any technical issues or challenges faced by our customers, whether before, during or after implementation, can now be handled out of Kuala Lumpur, as well as other regional locations.”

With its Solutions Centre based in Cluj Romania, Business Logic Systems’ prepaid solutions are already in use with 22 mobile network operators around the world, including in Europe, Central Asia, Australasia and the Americas
