JBS Environmental Inaugurates Two Units in The State of GOIÁS

The plants located in Goiânia and Senador Canedo will recycle 170 tons of plastic per year

São Paulo – WEBWIRE

In the first half of the year, JBS Ambiental started two new operations in the state of Goiás. The plants, located in the cities of Goiânia and Senador Canedo, will be responsible for the reuse of about 170 tons of plastic per year, from Friboi’s activities in the same municipalities.

From the so-called closed loop of plastic, the JBS Novos Negócios division correctly allocates the waste discarded by the operations of part of the Friboi plants. In addition to manufacturing food bags, it also produces pallet cover for JBS Leathers and garbage bags that are distributed to all JBS business plants in Brazil. The central secret is to keep the material as long as possible within the chain itself.

Annually, JBS Ambiental reuses 6,400 tons of plastic from JBS operations. For comparison, the volume is equivalent to 1.07 billion grocery bags or approximately 376.5 million 30-liter bags of waste. Also destined to recycle, per year, more than 4 thousand tons of cardboard coming from the activities in the units of the JBS.
