The entire month of May is recognized as Asthma and Allergy Awareness Month. This is an important effort as this chronic lung disease affects over 26 million people living in the United States, including more than 6 million children according to the CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics. Asthma is also expensive, costing the country over $50 billion each year.
