The Sounds of DJ Tennis

Manfredi Romano serves up a psychedelic curveball for his Sounds of Sónar mix, incorporating modular synthesis and out there sounds to create a slow burning, all encompassing mix that perfectly shows off his dexterity and versatility behind the decks.

In his own words:

“This mix is leaning towards being a psychedelic experience rather than a pure dance mix. I believe a selection should not always be forged to make people dance but to create an emotional experience. I decided to blend experimental sounds adding trippy elements with a surgical work of cut and paste and mashing up elements using psychedelics (mushrooms) for pure creative freedom. Trying to enjoy the process in the first place without thinking about the destination.”
