SenseTime Welcomes Malaysian Prime Minister in China Enters into a Strategic Collaboration with G3 Global and CHEC on the 1st AI Park in Malaysia

Malaysian Prime Minister Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad led a delegation of his country to visit SenseTime’s Beijing office in conjunction with his attendance at the 2nd Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation, Beijing 2019. This is yet another top leader from southeast Asia countries visiting us after Singaporean Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong’s visit in 2017. The Malaysian VIPs were received and accompanied by SenseTime Founder and Professor of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Professor Xiao’ou Tang, SenseTime President of Asia-Pacific Business Group, Mr. Jeff Shi, and a number of SenseTime executives. During the visit, SenseTime Group Ltd (“SenseTime”) has entered into a strategic collaboration with Malaysian technology company G3 Global Berhad (“G3 Global”), and China Harbour Engineering Company Ltd (“CHEC”) to establish the first artificial intelligence (“AI”) Park in Malaysia.

Accompanying the Prime Minister of Malaysia and his delegation during the visit at SenseTime, Prof. Tang gave a detailed introduction of the company’s latest developments. Tun Dr. Mahathir Mohamad and his ministerial officials also had a chance to experience the SenseTime Artificial Intelligence Demonstration area, where they got a first-hand view of the cutting-edge AI technologies and applications in autonomous driving, smart city, education, healthcare and other key focus areas. He expressed his admiration for SenseTime’s AI technologies, saying that there are plenty of application scenarios for SenseTime’s technologies in Malaysia. He looks forward to the company’s development in Malaysia.

In the meantime, leveraging the AI Park project, SenseTime will also join hands with G3 Global to open up market opportunities in Malaysia, exploring AI technologies in areas of smart city, public management, smartphones, automobile and so on, and introducing fundamental education of AI into Malaysian education curriculum.
